SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN
Spookley is a wonderful story about a square pumpkin found in the pumpkin patch. The other pumpkins (all round in shape, of course) are not very kind to Spookley. When bad weather threatens the pumpkin patch, Spookley’s differences make him a hero. The story is a great way to
introduce discussions of diversity,
tolerance and anti-bullying.
If you are looking to plant some new ideas in your students this fall, come to Harvest Moon Farms. Our new “Spookley the square pumpkin” tour is a great way to start the school year. The program offers a great story and lesson with a multi-cultural message about accepting and appreciating differences. The focus is on respecting others, especially those different than ones self. There is so much to see and do at Harvest Moon Farms, your class will ride the hayrack to the pumpkin patch, check out the great farm animals, and get lost in the bale maze.
